Julia Youngs
Julia Youngs was born and raised in Albuquerque and holds a BA in English Literature from UNM. She holds an MA in Latin American Studies and Community + Regional Planning from UNM. Outside of academia, Julia has worked for many years in Albuquerque as a stage manager and community arts organizer as the co-chair of EmergeABQ, member of Albuquerque’s Downtown Arts & Cultural District, and organizer for Umbrella Week. She was one of three New Mexican’s invited to attend President Obama’s “South By South Lawn” initiative, and is a founding member of the 305 Forum, a global entrepreneurship network developed in conjunction with the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Center and Global Entrepreneurship Community. Julia combines her passion for community engagement and urban development to help grow more creative cities and creative industries. Julia speaks Spanish fluently and Portuguese conversationally.
