Arthur Simone
Arthur Simone is an artist, actor and co-founder of Austin’s ColdTowne Theater. He graduated from Oberlin College and studied improvisation at Chicago’s Improv Olympic. Notable live performances include Rubber Repertory’s Jubilee and his one-man show Dear Frailty, which earned him an award as Best Actor in Austin.
Challenging conventions of puppetry and magic, Arthur began performing alongside his dog and semi-autonomous machines. His exploration of robotics and electronics resulted in Fusebox Festival comedy showcase Bot Party. Ongoing conversations with social roboticists from Carnegie Mellon, MIT and University of Texas have added to the development of robot Annabelle, who has appeared at SXSW and Maker Faire Austin.
As a film and television actor, Arthur has appeared in everything from Big Momma’s House 2 to Parkland. Arthur is longtime participant in the East Austin Studio Tour and has been a Hunting Art Prize finalist for his abstract expressionist oils on canvas.
