Reena Ninan was named a correspondent for CBS News and an anchor for CBSN, CBS News' 24/7 digital streaming news service, in April 2016. She reports for all CBS News broadcasts and platforms. Ninan is an experienced journalist who has reported from around the world. Her journalism career has taken her from Washington to the Middle East and back. Prior to ABC News, Ninan spent five years as a Middle East correspondent for the Fox News Channel. She joined Fox News in 2007 and, in that position, reported from Egypt, India, Lebanon, Iraq, Libya and Israel. She covered the trial of Saddam Hussein in Iraq and reported on the rise of Al Qaeda in the Maghreb from Morocco. In 2011, she reported on the Arab Spring, and the same year interviewed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas before his push at the United Nations for Palestinian statehood. Her work abroad also earned her notice from Glamour magazine, which included her in a "Women on the Front Lines" story. Also at Fox News, Ninan was a Washington-based producer. She covered the Iowa caucus, the New Hampshire primary, and the Republican and Democratic conventions of 2004. Ninan began her journalism career as a live-shot producer for the Washington Post. Ninan earned a bachelor's degree in political communication with a minor in women's studies from The George Washington University, School of Media and Public Affairs.
