Clinton Phillips
Founder of Medici & 2nd.MD
Clinton Phillips’ life can be described as the American Dream. He left South Africa in 2002, as a chiropractor & sports therapist, to come and play rugby for Aspen, the National Champs. 3 years later, Barry Sternlicht, founder of Starwood, allowed Clint to open Aspen Back & Body at the St Regis.
Clint’s love for his clients was unmatched. Aspen Back & Body was a big hit, and people traveled across the world to get out of pain. The clinic was packed with world leaders, celebrities and many of the Forbes 400. For those who couldn’t make it to Aspen, Clint bought IdealStretch to help improve flexibility across the world.
Clint’s daughter Gabi had a stroke after birth in Aspen. Shocked at the difficulty in accessing a good pediatric neurologist, he vowed to take on a much larger challenge- access to top specialists. Clint founded 2nd.MD to allow members unprecedented access to specialists at Mayo, Hopkins, Mass General, MD Anderson, etc for 2nd opinions via video in 3 days. 2nd.MD is often considered the most important employee benefit at Fortune 100 companies.
In 2016, billionaires backed Clint again to build a new model for healthcare. Dubbed 'WhatsApp of Healthcare', Medici allows you to text your Doctor, Vet & Therapist. Doctors are back in charge of their lives and can manage their patients with unparalleled ease. Leaders from Amazon, Google, and UHC have joined the mission. Medici will reach millions in 5 countries in 2017.
Clint has been featured on CBS, ABC, Forbes, TechCrunch and manages health matters for several royal families & US leaders. He was recently selected as Houston Business Journals Top 40 under 40 and has been married to Jade, a former TV gladiator, for 14 years and has three children: Clinty, Faith and Gabrielle (who has recovered miraculously from her stroke). The family is working hard toward their goal of sponsoring 1,000 orphans. Clint is the Masters National Champ in various track & field events.
