Aman Ali
Aman Barkat Ali, MD is a General Surgery resident at Houston Hospital in Houston, Texas and also the Fellow at the Methodist Institute for Technology, Innovation & Education (MITIE). MITIE is an innovative virtual hospital and hands-on clinical training facility for health care professionals seeking to maintain and acquire new procedural skills, and to conduct research on skills acquisition and technological development. Dr. Ali was raised in Houston, Texas and graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, GA with Summa Cum Laude in Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology and minor in Global Health. At Emory University, his research focused on ADHD treatments with an investigation on improving attention in dopamine β-Hydroxylase knockout mice. While at Emory University, Dr. Ali was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Dr. Ali received the distinguished Paul L. Foster Merit Scholarship to attend Texas Tech Health Science Center School of Medicine and graduated with a Doctorate of Medicine and received the honorary Texas Tech Health Science Center Distinction in Research and Scholarship Award. During surgery training at The Methodist Hospital, Dr. Ali has been awarded Best Intern Resident in 2014-2015 and Best Surgery Resident in 2015-2016. Dr. Ali has a special interest and focus to help the less privileged, and he is currently a member of the American College of Surgeons.
