Asher Rapkin
Asher Rapkin is Product Marketing Communications Lead for Platforms on Facebook's Global Business Marketing team. Asher and his team are responsible for defining and executing the go-to-market strategy for Messenger, Facebook Pages, Delivery and Insights, and Core Ad Interfaces. Prior to joining Facebook, Asher was the Global Head of Channel Marketing for iAd, a division of Apple. At iAd, he looked after the verbal and visual articulation of the brand and oversaw the platform's PR, events, and thought leadership work. Before joining Apple, Asher was the Director of Digital Marketing for NBCUniversal's Integrated Media division where he managed the development and execution of cross-platform marketing programs spanning the entire NBCU portfolio. Asher was also a Marketing Manager at MTV where he was responsible for digital marketing partnerships with the Hollywood studios. Asher started his professional career at Current TV, where he oversaw the network's "VCAM" (Viewer Created Ad Message) program, in which viewers created the ads that run on the fledgling network.
Asher is co-chair of the iab's Native Advertising and Social Committee and is a member of the Producer's Guild of America's New Media Council. He holds a BA from Oberlin College in Theater and lives in Oakland with artist Caitlin Rolls and two pit bulls, Hank and Louise.
