Lawrence "Boo" Mitchell is a Grammy Award winning engineer, producer, composer, and an award winning movie producer. Born January 14th, 1971, Boo is son of legendary Al Green/Hi Records producer, Willie Mitchell. Boo began his musical career in 1987 at the age of 16 song writing and playing keyboards. Boo’s first session as a keyboard player was in 1988 on Al Green’s Grammy Award winning “As Long as We’re Together." In 1988 he formed a rap group called the M-Team. During the 90's the M-Team was the first rap group from Memphis to release a full length album. The M-Team was also Memphis' fist rap group to have a video played on MTV(Can You Kick It Like This). In 2000, Boo became manager of his father's legendary Royal Studios. Over the next three years, Boo managed the studio and was an assistant engineer. During this time he was associate producer for two of Al Green's latest albums, "I Can't Stop" and "Everything's Ok." By the end of 2004 Boo became the head engineer at Royal Studios. As head engineer, one of the first sessions he engineered on was the song"I'm Gonna Find Another You," on John Mayer's Continuum album. Over the next 6 years he worked closely with his father doing projects for artist such as Buddy Guy, Rod Stewart and Solomon Burke. For the past 11 years Boo has worked on several Grammy Nominated and Grammy Award winning projects with artists such as Al Green, Buddy Guy, Isaac Hayes, John Mayer, Solomon Burke, Bruno Mars, Anthony Hamilton, The BarKay's, Bobby Rush, Bobby "Blue Bland, Hurricane Chris, Rod Stewart, Terrence Howard, Elton John, Keb Mo, Keith Richards, Angie Stone, William Bell, Trombone Shorty, Melissa Etheridge, Paul Rodgers, The Wu-Tang Clan, Jim Lauderdale, Snoop Dogg, The North Mississippi Allstars, Mystikal, Sam Moore, Eric Benet, Robert Plant, Boz Scaggs, Jeff Bhasker and Mark Ronson and others. Boo won the Record Of The Year Grammy Award for the Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars hit "Uptown Funk" in the 58th Grammy Awards.
