Molly Cox

Pres & CEO
SA2020

Throughout her career, Molly Cox has worn many hats – President & CEO, radio personality, consultant, professor, and waitress to name a few. She doesn’t look good in hats. After growing up in Corpus Christi, Texas, Molly moved to San Antonio in 2006, working diligently on her master’s degree, while serving the city’s finest queso at Alamo Café. With a BA in theatre (from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi) and a master’s degree in political science (from The University of Texas-San Antonio), Molly knew finding a fulfilling job would be interesting at best. Her commitment to engaging community in real solutions has led her to the nonprofit sector over and over again. A Certified Nonprofit Leader, she served as the Director of UTSA’s Center for Policy Studies, leading nonprofit management programs for current professionals and undergraduate and graduate students. The program won the Sprint Foundation’s Program Excellence Award in 2010. In 2011, she started her own consulting business, Nonprofit FancyPants, where she worked with area nonprofits on communication strategies, program evaluation, and strategic planning. Her first two jobs were with Haven for Hope and SA2020. As the current President & CEO of SA2020, she serves as a facilitator, a storyteller, a convener, a fundraiser, a communicator, and a connector. Multiple hats. Again. Molly has served on the selection committees for the Texas Governor’s Volunteer Awards, the San Antonio Ethics in Business Awards, and The Nonprofit Council’s Executive Committee. She served as the advisor to the San Antonio Youth Commission in 2011 and 2012 and directed 7-10 year olds in the Barshop Jewish Community Center’s after-school NOVA program. She has volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Any Baby Can, Project Mend, Clarity Child Guidance Center, Gemini Ink, San Antonio Public Library Foundation, San Antonio Education Partnership and currently sits on the San Antonio Express-News Community Advisory Board, VIA Transit Advisory Committee, and the EastPoint Sustainability Committee. She is also one of the 2017-2018 season directors for The Playhouse-San Antonio.
