Ambarish Mitra CEO and co-founder of Blippar, which is a visual discovery browser using computer vision, augmented reality and artificial intelligence. He has grown Blippar from 3 cofounders to 300+ employees in 10 offices including acquiring AR giant Layar in 2014. Ambarish started his tech career in 1997 as a high school drop-out entrepreneur on Women Empowerment starting a web portal in India, which successfully IPO'd in 2000. Ambarish is an angel investor in the field of AR, AI and Genomics. With a vision to create the ultimate physical world browser, Ambarish, has been widely recognized for his unconventional business thinking and people-driven philosophical approach to management. In October 2016, Mitra was named UK Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young. Also in 2016 blippar was ranked 9th most disruptive company in the world by CNBC Disruptor 50.
