Harms' work focuses on the design and development of digital tools and physical prototypes which aid and inform creative design processes, new fabrication methods, and novel interaction design. He is currently working as a Senior Research Engineer within the Think Tank Team at Samsung Research America, Silicon Valley.

Harms earned a Masters in Design Research at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc, 2013), and a bachelors degree in Architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, (2011). He has previously worked at such firms as IwamotoScott, Future Cities Lab, Griffin Enright Architects, and has consulted for Testa/Weiser, Stephen Phillips Architects (SPARCHS), and Doug Jackson Design Office.

His work has been reported in popular media, including WIRED, Fast Company, CNN.com, Hackaday, DeZeen, Creative Applications, NOTCOT, Arch Daily, and many others.
