Mevan Babakar

Mevan manages digital products and supporter communications at Full Fact, the UK's leading factchecking charity. Her main focus for the past year has been automated factchecking. She co-authored "The Sate of Automated Factchecking", which looks at where we are, and where we could be with automation in the coming years.

Mevan joined Full Fact in 2014 after working at Cancer Research. She was a founding member of Bite the Ballot, an organisation that gets young people registered to vote; there she launched Britain’s first ever National Voter Registration Day. She graduated with a Masters in Bioengineering from the University of Sheffield, and has won a pancake eating competition in her lifetime.
