Abrar Hussain
Abrar Hussain is Managing Director of Elixir Capital, a Silicon Valley based private equity fund, and Adjunct Faculty at the University of California, Berkeley and at Vanderbilt University where he teaches courses on private equity, venture capital and Islamic finance. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and numerous universities worldwide.
Prior to his co-founding Elixir Capital, Abrar was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis and worked with some of the largest investment funds in the world including The Carlyle Group, Quantum (George Soros), Apollo and NEA. During his tenure, he was one of the most sought-after emerging markets advisors in the investment industry.
Abrar has invested in numerous Silicon Valley companies as well as businesses in Asia and the Middle East and sits on numerous boards and advisory committees.
Most importantly, Abrar provides insight into how innovative ecosystems are created and what we can learn from dynamic ecosystems like Silicon Valley. Abrar has been an advisor on these issues to governments, policy makers and businesses worldwide.
