Candace Queen

Operating under the pseudonym, Meroë, Candace creates an array of passion projects and provides art direction and design services to select clients fueled by hip-hop culture. Passionate about all things Trill, Chopped and Screwed, her work reflects her roots in Southeast Texas, as well as her love for exploring other cultures and highlighting her Creole heritage. Inspired by Lorraine Hansberry’s knack for merging her creative talents with creating awareness about social injustice flawlessly, Candace also founded the Hansberry Group, with a desire to provide quality branding, strategy and design services to cause based organizations and individuals who focus on creating innovative ways to reduce systemic injustices among people of color.
