Elisa Kreisinger

Elisa Kreisinger, aka Pop Culture Pirate, is known for her viral videos mashing up Mad Men into feminists and the Real Housewives into lesbians. She is currently the Executive Producer at Refinery29, the largest independent website for women. She hosts the popular podcast and video series, Strong Opinions Loosely Held. Elisa is a Women in Technology Fellow at NYU School of Engineering. Her US Copyright Office testimony helped win crucial exemptions to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, setting the stage for video to dominate across social platforms. Her solo art show resulted in a US Copyright Office White paper on internet meme culture. Elisa speaks frequently on the power of creating a more inclusive pop culture, most recently at MIT Media Lab, Harvard Law School and SxSW.
