During that time he has published a number of peer-reviewed scientific papers focused on the ecological impacts of the major development sectors in the region, such as oil and gas development, logging concessions, and hydroelectric dams. Most recently, he has been developing and implementing a near real-time deforestation monitoring system for the Andean Amazon, known as MAAP.
