Weidong Yang

Weidong Yang is the founder, CEO of Kineviz, a data visualization company with the mission of bringing wonder to data through interactive 3D and VR. Previously he managed software product development in Semiconductor industry. He is also the founder, director of Kinetech Arts, a non-profit organization that brings together dance, science and interactive technology.

Having been active on both sides of Art and Tech, he has observed engineering process from opposing angles. He received his Ph. D in Physics and Master in Computer Science, was a postdoctoral fellow at UC, Berkeley researching on quantum dots. He has received 11 US patents.
