David Hekili Bell
David Hekili Kenui Bell was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and has lived his entire life on the islands. He currently resides in the town of Waimea on the Big Island where he works in security and operations at the Kona International Airport. His interest in acting began after playing Santa in his fifth-grade production of Babes in Toyland. While roles are few and far between in Hawaii, David managed to land a couple small parts on the reboot of Hawaii Five-O. When he received scripts for some Kona Brewing commercials, he took a chance and flew to Honolulu to audition. After his first read-through, no one else was considered for the part. What David didn’t expect was that he would ultimately become ad agency Duncan Channon’s most trusted advisor on how to express the campaign’s big idea while ensuring the cultural authenticity of the work. David became an indispensable consultant and collaborator to the creative team in bringing the genuine Hawaii to life.
