Olivia Hauck
Olivia is the Co-CEO of It’s Time: ExOut Extremism. It’s Time started as a student project for the spring 2016 Peer to Peer: Challenging Extremism program; a global university initiative to counter hate and extremism held by EdVenture Partners, sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security and Facebook. Olivia and sixteen additional students worked for an entire academic semester to create It's Time and submit the project for judging. Olivia and four of her teammates then traveled to Washington D.C to present their initiative to a panel of distinguished judges. It’s Time placed first beating out two other teams from Brussels and Azerbaijan.
Since placing first in the international competition Olivia has graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in advertising and public relations. She has been a keynote speaker at the Cleveland State University 2016 Countering Violent Extremism conference and Rochester Institute of Technology’s International Education Week. In September of 2016 Olivia was presented with the “Fight Against Online Hate” Award from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Speaking on behalf of Its Time, Olivia has been featured in over 30 publications including leading media such as FedScoop, Politico and USA Today.
It’s Time focuses on empowering the silent majority to stand against extremist rhetoric providing them with educational tools and resources, such as videos, interviews, infographics and more. It’s Time has also held educational programs for high school students as well as many successful events. Olivia and her team are still working to grow and expand It’s Time in hopes it will continue to be impactful.
