Matthew Rice
Matthew Rice is a strategic planner within the Directorate of Strategic Operational Planning at the National Counterterrorism Center. He is currently the Acting Chief Digital Officer at the U.S. Government's Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Task Force where he oversees the Digital Strategies and Communications line of effort. Established by the White House in January 2016, the CVE Task Force - administratively housed at the Department of Homeland Security - focuses on coordinating the federal government's domestic CVE activities. Prior to joining the CVE Task Force, he was the Acting Cyber Branch Chief at the National Counterterrorism Center. Mr. Rice is a policy expert on terrorist use of the Internet and the use of social media for radicalization and recruitment. He is a graduate of Haverford College and George Washington University.
