Joel Green
Joel is the Project Scientist in the Office of Public Outreach at the Space Telescope Science Institute, the science operations center for the Hubble and upcoming James Webb Space Telescope. An astrophysicist by training, he has authored over 60 scientific papers on the formation (and partial destruction!) of new stars and planetary systems. He has written for and appeared in numerous public outreach, communications, and educational materials, most recently the National Geographic special on Hubble's Amazing Universe, and PBS Nova's special on Metals. He has also appeared as a woodwind or vocalist on five released indie music albums, as Band Astronomer for the Pizza Underground, composed music for educational games, and appeared in (scenes deleted from) the indie horror film Found Footage 3D.
