Mikey Cordero
Mikey’s background includes serving for the last 3 years as Manager of Educational Technology and Media at Urban Arts Partnership(UAP), an arts education non-profit in New York City. Previously, he has co-developed programs like UAP’s 3rd space program for High School students, the Academy at UAP and their Adobe Youth Voices program, additionally providing Youth Digital Media professional development for educators.
These experiences have allowed him to build a large knowledge base in radical youth pedagogy and youth development. He has a strong belief in youth agency and inclusion. Mikey has designed and developed curriculum for high school students with a focus on allowing technology and media be used as empowerment tools to supplement their learning and sharing. He has worked directly with underrepresented youth for over 10 years in NYC.
Mikey is also a multimedia artist that has created and launched creative social justice campaigns and content to provoke change in his communities. As an entrepreneur he co-founded Fresthetic, a small boutique/gallery space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that has operated for the last 10 years.
