Dr Danny Haddad
As Chief of Programs for Orbis International, Dr Danny Haddad leads the organisations’s global blindness prevention portfolio and respective teams across the world. Previously, Danny served as the Director of Global Ophthalmology, Emory Eye Center at Emory University, Atlanta, GA, where he developed a global ophthalmology program, involving faculty, fellows residents and students. Before that, Danny was the director of the International Trachoma Initiative and led the co-ordination of ITI’s annual billion-dollar Zithromax donation program in support of the global effort to eliminate blinding trachoma by 2020. During this time, he also spearheaded the Global Trachoma Mapping Project in collaboration with Sightsavers, the first of its kind and the largest single disease mapping project ever undertaken.
