Paul Bedwell

Paul is the co-founder and CEO of clapit, a new application making social media a more human experience. A trained medical doctor with expertise in clinical medicine and research, he moved to Africa once attaining his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from Sydney University. There he worked for not-for-profit Kenya Aid before pursuing research for health information technology in diabetes, heart failure, and preventable illness.

Away from work, PJ spends his time surfing and volunteering as a youth group mentor in Sydney. It was working with youth that he saw firsthand the influence, positive and negative, that social media can have. He recognized an opportunity to empower individuals through social media, and began working on how to compound this with a way of discovering the best content on the web. clapit was created. A content democracy where we applaud the best new content and everyone has an equal chance of becoming the next online star.
