Dr Vivian Diller
Clinical Psychologist: I have 30 years of clinical experience working with adults and adolescents in individual and couple counseling. I have researched and written about self-esteem, body image, and the importance of broadening our culture's definition of beauty. I speak about these topics and other psychological issues in the media, at conventions, to magazine editors, bloggers, marketers and executives at major companies around the world.
Author: My most recent book, "Face It: What Women Really Feel As Their Looks Change" is a psychological guide to dealing with the emotions brought on by an aging appearance. As a former professional ballet dancer and Wilhelmina model, I have had the opportunity to examine the world of beauty from two very different vantage points -- from inside the dance and fashion world and from my role as a therapist to patients whose careers revolve around their appearance. This unique perspective has helped me understand the complex psychological impact beauty can have in people's lives.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Psychology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Post-doctoral training at NYU, Contributor to Psychology Today, Huffington Post, and other publications. Former professional dancer with Cincinnati Ballet Company. Former Wilhelmina model. Consultant for global beauty and fashion brands including Estée Lauder, Unilever, Olay, L'Oreal, P & G and more.
