Toke Vandervoort has over 20 years experience providing strategic legal counsel to major tech companies on technology development, intellectual property protection, data privacy and security. She has a proven track record of successful collaboration with technology teams to develop and operationalize data use and privacy practices, network and information security policies, and related compliance program integration and incident management.
As Deputy General Counsel to Under Armour, she leads the legal team supporting UA Connected Fitness (comprised of MyFitnessPal, MapMyFitness, Endomondo and UA Record with over 180m fitness users worldwide), and has direct interdisciplinary leadership responsibility for Trademark, Patent, Product Compliance, Employment and Litigation along with collaborative leadership responsibility for Privacy, Security and Incident Response. She provides cross-functional legal advice and leadership on critical initiatives to advance Under Armour's mission to "make all athletes better through passion, design and the relentless pursuit of innovation."
Toke also serves as a member of the US Department of Homeland Security Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee and is Co-Chair of the ACC Data Protection and Privacy Forum (National Capital chapter).
Prior to joining Under Armour, she was the Vice President, Assistant General Counsel for Technology, Privacy & Security, and the Chief Privacy Officer at XO Communications, a nationwide telecommunications, internet and cloud solutions provider. She previously held senior legal positions at EDS and MCI, and served two federal judges as a judicial law clerk following law school. Raised in New Orleans, she's now made the DC metro area her home but never lost her hometown passion for live music.
