Ulrico graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with Honours. During university, Ulrico discovered his love for entrepreneurship and started a concert promoting company. As the experiential marketing industry started growing after the recession, Ulrico re-aligned the events business toward creating high-tech brand experiences for which Ambrosia Brand Experience Agency has won several awards. Ulrico served as both Managing Director and Creative Director at the agency.
This is how Ulrico discovered virtual reality, and in 2014, Ulrico started Deep VR - now the most experienced cinematic VR company on continental Africa. Between client projects, Deep VR has developed the Story Department which is currently focusing on filming immersive wildlife documentaries in VR, with the first project, "Exodus: The Great Migration" having been filmed in Kenya in 2016.
Ulrico was named as one of Fast Company's 25 Most Creative People in Business in 2016.
