Alex Zhu
Alex Zhu began his career as a product designer and manager at SAP. As his role expanded, Alex also began working in user experience architecture and user design management. Right before founding musical.ly, Alex was a creative director at Microsoft, where he was tasked with driving "mobile disruption" initiatives in the consumer space.
In 2014, Alex founded musical.ly--a video social network for creating, sharing and discovering short videos. Every day, millions of teens use musical.ly as an outlet to express themselves through singing, dancing, comedy, and lip-syncing. The app celebrates creativity with videos recorded in 15 seconds or less that are shared across the musical.ly community. Since first being made available in October 2014, musical.ly has hit #1 in the iOS App Store for free apps in 20 countries - including the United States.
