Tina Edwards
Tina Edwards is a London based Broadcaster and Music Journalist. She’s founder of Jazz Standard, a platform that features a regular radio show, video sessions, interviews and more. Jazz Standard's core readers are 25-35, with 45% female engagement; this audience engagement is rare - Jazz Standard introduces jazz to young, trendy audiences.
In 2017 they will be collaborating with various labels and platforms such as Sofar Sounds and Spotify. They'll also be fronting a nationwide campaign in the UK, Jazz100, which will encourage 100,000 people to hit a live jazz gig for the first time.
Tina Edwards is a tastemaker and supporter of new music; she hosted and produced Balcony TV: Music Sessions, an eight part TV series on London Live, showcasing the best new music from across the UK. She's also written for Boiler Room, The Arts Desk, Spindle and national newspapers about jazz, new music of various genres, and culture. This Spring she also launches a new music show for British Airways, which she'll host and produce.
Before launching Jazz Standard, Tina was a presenter/voiceover artist across Balcony TV, 4music and Heat TV. She has presented travel content, award shows and expos across Europe and the Caribbean. Tina has written several presenter-lead TV treatments, as commissioned by talent agencies.
Tina is also a professional vocal coach, DJ/selector, and a lecturer in music journalism & broadcast. When she's not digging for new music and vinyl, you'll find her nerding off about Bjork or doing yoga.
