Katie Pyne

In her current role as a Creative Producer, Katie creates branded content that entertains, inspires, and connects with viewers. She uses her background in documentary storytelling to find the human element in every piece, and her knowledge of the digital media landscape to create formats that resonate with audiences across multiple platforms.

Before BuzzFeed she produced nonfiction TV series for Discovery Science Channel, and prior to that, specials for CNN Presents Special Investigations and Documentaries. Topics she’s covered include challenges faced by girls trying to attend school in Afghanistan, and ethical implications of cutting edge technologies that are shaping our future. She’s produced live news coverage of the 5 year anniversary of Katrina, and panels at Comic Con in front of thousands of screaming fans wearing fabulously elaborate costumes. Some of her most personally impactful work was covering the Gulf Oil Disaster in New Orleans, for which she received a Peabody Award.
