Ken Shine
Ken Shine is former Executive Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs for the University of Texas System. He currently serves on the board of UnitedHealth Group, Inc., which includes companies at the forefront of tech innovation in health care. An expert in academic medicine and health transformation, Shine is recognized as a chief architect and visionary who helped turn the concept for a medical school in Austin into a reality. He is currently special advisor to UT System Chancellor Bill McRaven. A nationally-renowned cardiologist, Shine also has led the American Heart Association, Association of American Medical Colleges Council of Deans and Institute of Medicine.
