Chetan Kapoor
Chetan is a technology executive in robotics and machine software. He has a long history of innovation starting with leading robotics research projects for DARPA, NASA, etc. while he was Chief Scientist at University of Texas at Austin. Beyond research, he has excelled as an entrepreneur as he founded, led, and successfully exited Agile Planet, Inc. through its acquisition by Yaskawa America.
At Yaskawa America, Chetan is responsible for new product development and for commercial strategies that leverage the integration of Yaskawa's distinct businesses and products. Specifically, this includes:
1. Collaborative robots that allow productive co-working between humans and robots.
2. Improving Ease of Use and Productivity of industrial automation assets through data sharing, machine learning, and perception.
2. A common control platform that integrates the functions of Yaskawa three major product lines; robots, motion, and drives.
Chetan has over 40 publications and patents and has been recognized for his work through various awards.
