Scot Barbour
Mr. Barbour began his career as an award winning independent film maker and member of the DGA. In 2003 he began working for Apple’s Pro Apps team as the Manager of Strategic Market Development for Motion Pictures and Television.
In his role with Apple, Mr. Barbour played a critical part in the success, integration and adoption of Final Cut Pro in Hollywood. After leaving Apple in 2009, Mr. Barbour went back to independent filmmaking and ran a 3D Production company that produced 3D commercials and features. In 2011 Sony Pictures tapped Scot to head up Production Technology as the 4K, HDR, HFR and VR world began to develop. At Sony Pictures, Scot serves as a leader in the integration of new technologies and the realization of their potentials to push the boundaries of cinematic storytelling.
