Kristina Sorge
Kristina Sorge is an award-winning filmmaker. Her first short documentary, Bernice, completed its film festival circuit in 2015 and was later picked up for distribution by The Orchard. Kristina’s experience spans from monetizing independent films through various crowdfunding campaigns to co-producing and directing short and feature length documentaries. Most recently, Kristina produced and directed an original web series called "Women & Leadership" for The Atlantic, a series underwritten by Netflix.
As an independent filmmaker, Kristina can shed light on traditional and unconventional pathways to acquiring funds through private investors, public grants, NGOs, Kickstarter campaigns and tax credits. Kristina can also discuss how to find marketplaces for independent films, increase digital revenue, branded content and the future of independent filmmaking.
Kristina is currently producing an environmental injustice documentary, entitled The Golden Cage. She is based in New York City.
