Charles Ramsey brings over 46 years of knowledge, experience and service in advancing the law enforcement profession in three different major city police departments, beginning in his native Chicago and then in Washington, DC and Philadelphia. He has been at the forefront of developing innovative policing strategies and leading organizational change for the past 25 years, and is an internationally recognized practitioner and educator in his field. He has served as President of both the Police Executive Research Forum and the Major Cities Chiefs Association – the only law enforcement professional to have been President of both prominent organizations at the same time – and as co-chair of the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing, a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Executive Committee, and as a member of the United States Department of Homeland Security Advisory Council. He currently serves as an advisor to the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
