Hamish Tennent

Human Robot Interaction Researcher
Cornell University

Hamish is a visiting scholar where he teaches and researches in the field of Human Robot interaction at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. After beginning his career studying Industrial Design, Hamish worked for a number of years designing physical products, movie props and packaging. In love with the physical space but dissatisfied with it’s lack of interactivity, he went back to do an MFA in Interaction Design at CCA in San Francisco. Here he focused not only on the physical form, but also on how it can change and adapt to suit the users needs and desires. Seeking out a way to blend Interaction and Industrial design, he now works in the field of Human Robot interaction research and has worked on autonomous cars, domestic robotics and robot sound perception.
