Federico Gomez Suarez
Federico Gomez Suarez is a Software Engineer working for Microsoft. He earned his engineering degree from Universidad de las Americas Puebla. He joined Microsoft as a full-time employee in 2006, working on the cloud storage solutions powering Onedrive. In 2008, Federico worked with the team which implemented PhotoDNA. This technology is used across the industry for the detection of child sexual abuse materials. Since then, Federico has been involved in multiple efforts to use technology to protect children and help drive the Tech for Good community. In 2015, he joined Thorn’s technical advisory board and is currently the lead of the volunteer-led project Child Finder Service, which leverages existing facial recognition and focuses on victim identification.
