Co-Founder
Spotlight Media Ventures

Tom Haberstroh left ESPN in October to become the co-founder of Spotlight Media Ventures, a multimedia company based in Los Angeles that primarily focuses on sports podcasts and pop culture. He is also a writer-at-large for B/R Mag, the long-form storytelling section at Bleacher Report. He is the co-host of The Basketball Friends and Pack Your Knives podcasts.

Haberstroh began his career at ESPN in 2008 upon graduation from Wake Forest, taking a part-time temp job with ESPN’s Stats & Analysis department. He parlayed that role into a full-time writing gig with ESPN.com covering the Miami Heat for the Heat Index in 2010 and became a columnist for ESPN.com Insider’s NBA section with a focus on analytics. He appeared regularly on ESPN’s SportsCenter and its daily NBA show The Jump hosted by Rachel Nichols. Haberstroh also wrote cover stories for ESPN the Mag and developed the NBA section’s only digital video franchise, a stats-driven storytelling series called The BIG Number.
