Jonathan Lisecki
Jonathan Lisecki is a director, writer, producer, and actor based in Los Angeles and New York. Gayby, his feature-film debut, was nominated for Best First Screenplay at the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards. Since premiering at SXSW 2012, Gayby has won eighteen festival awards, was named one of the best films of the year by the Boston Globe, and topped the iTunes independent film chart. Slant called it “universally hilarious,” and the LA Times hailed its “emotional generosity and easy warmth.” Prior work includes the shorts Gayby and Woman in Burka. Upcoming projects include a classic novel adaptation for Academy Award nominated producer Amy Hobby’s Tangerine Entertainment. Lisecki works at the production company / management firm Washington Square Films which has produced the features Crown Heights (Sundance 2017, Audience Award Winner), Golden Exits, A Most Violent Year, Old Joy, Margin Call, Listen Up Philip, Francine, and All Is Lost among others. The firm reps the actors Kerry Washington, Kimberly Hebert Gregory, Adepero Oduye, Dulé Hill, Gabriel Luna, and the filmmakers Eliza Hittman (Sundance 2017, Jury Prize for Best Director), and Josh Mond, Antonio Campos and Sean Durkin of Borderline Films.
