Jacob Fain

Jacob Fain is the Vice President of A&R and Head of Global Analytics & Research at SonyATV Music Publishing, based in New York. Fain began his career in music on the record side working at RCA Records and then Republic Records in the A&R department. After some time Jacob had the opportunity to transition to music publishing which he jumped at as he believed that the song was at the core of the music business, and working with songwriting was a passion.

Since starting at SonyATV almost 10 years ago, Jacob has signed such artists as Of Monsters and Men, Leon Bridges, Passion Pit, The Chainsmokers, Chase Rice, Parson James, The Kongos and others. In addition to his responsibilities surrounding signing and developing artists and writers, Jacob also oversees the Analytics and Research department of SonyATV which is responsible for the incorporation of data into the signing and development process of artists and writers at SonyATV. This new area of music which is rapidly expanding was brought to SonyATV by Fain under a belief that the music industry must embrace the technologies surrounding our industry and the deep value of data that they provide.
