Wendy Davis

Former Texas State Senator; Senior Advisor
Planned Parenthood Texas Votes

Wendy Davis (she/her) was once a teen mom living in poverty who went on to graduate from Harvard Law School. After serving on the city council in Fort Worth, Texas for 9 years, Wendy later rose to prominence as a state senator when she stood for 13 hours in her pink sneakers, filibustering a law that threatened to close almost all abortion clinics in Texas. After attempting to become Texas’ first Democratic governor in decades in 2014, Wendy later founded the non-profit, Deeds Not Words to train young women in civic engagement and advocacy and Defend The Frontline, a fund to protect and restore our rights in a post Roe world. Currently, Wendy serves as Senior Advisor to Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, the political and advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood in Texas.
