David Levin
David Levin joined Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) as Vice President VP, Digital Licensing in 2012. In his current role, he is responsible for the growth of digital revenue and developing strategies to address digital market needs.
Mr. Levin currently oversees BMI's digital licensing efforts and together with his team has consistently grown BMI’s revenue, culminating in a record-setting year in 2015 as the first U.S. PRO to exceeded $100 million in digital. This growth marked a 65% increase over last year.
Prior to joining BMI, Mr. Levin spent 12 years at Sony Music Entertainment. While at Sony, he established the digital and mobile business channels that started as a small nontraditional segment and ended with a majority of the company’s core business. During his tenure, he held several positions including Senior Vice President, Digital Sales, and Vice President, New Media.
Before joining Sony, he ran marketing for Getmusic.com, a joint venture between BMG and Universal, where he oversaw all aspects of promoting the launch of the groundbreaking Internet media and entertainment portal. Mr. Levin began his career with BMG Entertainment as a College Representative and grew with the company from the height of the CD boom to the dawn of the modern digital age.
Mr. Levin holds an MBA from Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Management and a BA in Sociology from Rutgers University.
