Christie Marchese is the founder and CEO of Picture Motion, where she leads a team of impact producers, marketing strategists and public interest communication specialists in developing social action and grassroots marketing campaigns for films. Working with filmmakers, distributors, brands and NGOs with stories that have the potential to inspire action, Picture Motion educates and inspires audiences to think critically, take action and drive lasting change. Recent projects include Leonardo DiCaprio’s Before the Flood, Ava DuVernay’s 13TH, Michael Moore’s Where to Invade Next, Katie Couric’s Fed Up and Under the Gun, Shonda Rhimes and Norman Lear’s America Divided, Dick’s Sporting Goods’ Keepers of the Game, Whole Foods Markets’ At the Fork, Discovery’s Racing Extinction, The Weinstein Co’s BULLY and Fruitvale Station, and world renowned artist JR’s Ellis.

Prior to founding Picture Motion, Christie ran Digital Strategy at Jeff Skoll’s Participant Media, where she led initiatives on over a dozen films, including Waiting for “Superman,” The Cove and Food Inc. Before moving to a career in impact film, Christie ran digital strategy for Norman Lear’s nonprofit, Declare Yourself, and spent time at Human Rights Watch and the International Rescue Committee. Christie is known as an expert in utilizing film and storytelling to mobilize change, and has spoken at prestigious film festivals including the Sundance Film Festival, Dubai Film Festival SXSW and keynoted Documentary Day at the Toronto International Film Festival. She has also been invited by governments of Peru and Pakistan to present her work. She has served as a contributing writer for Mashable, MediaPost and The Huffington Post and her expertise and experience earned her the title Business Insider’s 30 Most Creative People in Advertising Under 30 in 2014, and profiles on IndieWire and NPR. She sits on the Documentary Board at the Paley Center for Media and the advisory board for Filmmakers Without Borders. Chris
