Founder Curator Pres
Decibel Festival

Throughout my adult life I have pursued a career in music, while balancing numerous creative aspirations.

At The Evergreen State College (BA with a focus on audio engineering, music composition and marketing) I began curating, producing and marketing large-scale music events (S&A Productions). Since graduating, I've worked as a pro-audio store manager (Music 6000), event producer (Dreaming in Stereo), deejay/music producer (Nordic Soul), Director of Music Services/Senior Music Supervisor (PlayNetwork) and most recently as the International Curator Manager for Red Bull's innovative Sound Select music program.

My crowning achievement however is Decibel Festival/Productions, which I founded in 2003 and have remained on as president, creative director and curator. Out of Decibel grew a five-day conference/festival focusing on live music performance, interactive multimedia art and technology based education. The festival program averages 20,000+ attendees a year, while Decibel Productions brings in an additional 25,000+ attendees collectively across 50+ one-off events. Over the years Decibel has solidified itself as one of the premier festivals and promotional organizations in the world, curating 1,000+ artists from 40+ countries and attracting a wide variety of innovation, business, hospitality and media partners including Red Bull Music Academy, Microsoft, Verizon, Tesla, Stolichnaya, W Hotels, Uber, SXSW, Eventbrite, Ableton, Vice, Resident Advisor, KEXP 90.3 and Warp Records.

Simply put, I am a music expert whose love of music is matched only by my love of innovation. I've produced, performed, promoted and programmed music most of my life and I can honestly say that I am one of the most knowledgeable people I know in regards to music and the music industry (12 years as a music supervisor, 13 years as a festival director/curator, 15 years as a marketing director, 20 years as a composer, 20 years as an audio engineer, 25 years as a deejay, 30 years as a musician).
