Keelan Downton
Keelan Downton is a Data Visualization Engineer focused on equipping analysts with tools to turn data into insights.
After spending a decade on conflict resolution, inter-religious dialogue and the role of narrative in defining communities, Keelan comes to the Capital One from work in the educational and non-profit spaces. Despite his pivot from philosophical hermeneutics to analytic and visual technologies, he maintains an eye for helping people attend to and reflect on complexity with intelligence and a sense of responsibility.
As he creates visual aggregations and interactive experiences in the financial sector, Keelan continues to advocate for the role of imagination in enabling people to assess the limitations of current structures and take concrete actions to change them for the better.
Keelan has a Ph.D. in Theology from Queen's University Belfast, a Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Computer Science from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion from Messiah College. In his spare time he enjoys making beer, foisting Linux on his relatives, and making the metaverse a better place for everyone.
