Kevin Kalahiki

Kevin Kalahiki is the Front End Lead on the Small Business Design Team at Capital One.

Kevin has been a developer on a design team for most of his career which has provided an opportunity to influence both design and development. In 2006 Kevin took up the cause and began advocating for Web Accessibility, establishing a team whose purpose was to ensure that Accessibility was included in every step of the project workflow. The team helped product owners understand how following Section 508 actually helps them build their business. The team helped designers and developers understand how WCAG and WAI-ARIA provides them the means to structure their approach to their work in a new way. The team helped to make Web Accessibility a part of everyone’s role.

In 2015 Kevin joined Capital One where he continues to advocate for Accessibility while focusing on helping to design and build technology that strives to meet the needs of everyone.

Kevin also plays bass and draws pictures. Not at the same time.
