David Lewis

I am the metropolitan news editor for New York Public Radio / WNYC AM and FM, the largest local station in the NPR network, and the recipient of a 2016 Alfred I. duPont Award for our investigative work. I am a veteran journalist with more than 30 years in print, television and radio. I am also the producer and director of The Pleasures of Being Out of Step, a feature-length documentary film about the late jazz writer and civil libertarian Nat Hentoff, and I am the author of the book by the same name.
