After Solitary
What is it like in solitary confinement? In “After Solitary” you’ll go inside the Maine State Prison to hear the harrowing story of one man’s time in solitary and what happened when he got out. Kenny Moore was just 18 years old when he first went to prison. He has spent much of the last 20 years behind bars--years at a stretch in solitary confinement. In this immersive, walk-around VR documentary, Kenny recounts what life was like for him – how he coped, “fished” contraband to other inmates and fought guards during cell extractions. In 2011, Maine State Prison started reforming its solitary confinement policies and practices. In this VR experience, we explore the lasting impact on Kenny.
