Coding is no longer just for programmers — half of all U.S. jobs in the top income quartile require some knowledge of coding — and more people than ever are learning these skills, here in the U.S. and around the world.
As software engineers, we design the tools other coders use to build their creations. What will this new generation of coders expect from their tools, and how can we develop deeper empathy for this incredibly diverse group?
This session will look at trends in software development, coding education, and learner motivations to explore possible answers to these questions and more.
Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
