For all the ways that smartphones, social media, and near-constant WiFi access have improved our lives, life in the digital age comes with its fair share of new challenges and complications. Not only is modern society wreaking havoc on our physical bodies, technology is making it increasingly difficult to be present. The brain receives a constant stream of external information while also being overwhelmed by signals coming from inside the body. Our nervous systems are exhausted!
In this hour, you will experience ways to use yoga poses to counter the effects of sitting, typing and staring down at our phones and laptops. We will combine the physicality with breath work and techniques to help you slow down, recharge, and reconnect to the present moment to fully experience the world around you. Zero prior yoga experience required. Practice will be suitable for street clothes, however you will be seated and standing at various points so we recommend wearing clothes in which you are comfortable moving around.
