The End of Experts: Crowdsourcing Your Wellness
Wisdom about health used to come from our doctors. Now it comes from … everywhere! Our feeds are clogged with clickable headlines—endless studies on the benefits of fermented foods, vegan and paleo diets, how much sleep we need, new ways to exercise. With a virtual glut of information, how do we find the “truth”?
There is no one “truth,” but by connecting with likeminded people having similar experiences, we can glean the personally relevant insights we need to shape our own fitness destiny. In this session, speakers will discuss the important distinction between expertise and science, and how we can use technology to, in effect, crowdsource or own wellness.
